Bringing People and the Arts Together
The arts are proven to build stronger communities, strengthen the economy, and improve student achievement.
With your support, you make it possible to:
Bring professional theatre companies from across the nation into Norfolk’s Johnny Carson Theater for the education and entertainment of over 5,000 Northeast and North-Central Nebraska school students.
Present nine outstanding visual art exhibits showcasing artists from throughout the state and across the nation.
Provide 14 different stages throughout the year for Nebraska musicians, poets, and storytellers.
Celebrate more than 160 regional and national artists in our exhibit spaces and at community events.
Offer two separate week-long theatre camps during the summer, Missoula Children’s Theatre and Norfolk’s Youth Theatre.
Offer art education and art enrichment through classes and workshops for children and adults. 57 classes were offered in 2017.
Invite everyone into the Norfolk Arts Center gallery every month to celebrate local creativity with First Fridays, an open-mic event.
Offer hands-on art experiences to our community through Second Saturdays, a free monthly event focused on bringing art enrichment opportunities.
Offer engaging community events throughout the year, including Soup ‘R Art, ArtStock, ‘Fork Fest, and the Riverpoint Kids Festival.
At the Norfolk Arts Center, we are helping build a stronger community by successfully presenting the arts in all their variety. We envision a community where everyone has equal access to the inspiration, knowledge, and enjoyment of the arts. We work with artists, schools, businesses, service organizations, non-profits, and government entities to accomplish our mission of “bringing people and the arts together” for the enlightenment of all.
