Norfolk Arts Center’s annual fundraiser Soup ‘R Art, now in its 9th year, will once again be held at the Lifelong Learning Center on the Northeast Community College campus on Sunday, January 28 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Entries are now being taken for artists and restaurants who would like booth space during the event. Applications can be found online at norfolkartscenter.org under the Soup ‘R Art page or picked up at the Norfolk Arts Center during regular business hours. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, November 14 and forms can be mailed or dropped off at the NAC (305 North 5th Street | Norfolk, NE 68701) or emailed to Programs Assistant, Amy Okamoto, at amy@norfolkartscenter.org

Approximately 15 artists and 10 restaurants will be selected through a juried process to showcase their work for the over 800 guests who attend the yearly celebration. Artists will have work on sale, with many who use the opportunity to demonstrate their process, while restaurants hand out samples of soup and dessert. All are competing for bragging rights for winners of People’s Choice: “Favorite Artist,” “Favorite Soup,” and “Favorite Dessert.” Last year’s winners were: “Favorite Artist” Roger Nadrchal, “Favorite Soup” Taylor’s Bar and Grill, and “Favorite Dessert” Black Cow Fat Pig.

Soup ‘R Art is a staple fundraiser for the Norfolk Arts Center with all proceeds going back to support the organization’s myriad of programs including: visual arts exhibits, performing arts experiences and arts education classes and camps for all ages. The NAC impacts approximately 20,000 individuals every year through these programs and focuses on its mission: “Bringing People and the Arts Together.”
