Comics as a Career – Kaz Rowe

Comics as a Career

February 21, 2019 | 5:30 pm – 6:15 pm

Kaz Rowe will video call in from Los Angeles to talk about their practice. They will be discussing their ongoing published comic as well as the ins and outs of comics as a career.

Kaz Rowe is a Los Angeles based cartoonist and illustrator, and alumni of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. They are creating an ongoing, long-form webcomic (Cunning Fire).

Kaz’s work focuses thematically on liminal identity, namely Jewishness, and using fantasy as a vehicle to explore intersections between queer gender and searching for community and purpose. Additionally, Kaz is a historical researcher and creates mini-comics dedicated to LGBT historical figures.

This event will be hosted at the Norfolk Arts Center. If you have any questions about this event please call (402) 371-7199 or email the event coordinator Sage Allen at sage@norfolkartscenter.org
