"It's a bird, it's a plane, it's....your idea!" Superman was the idea of 2 teenagers in Ohio and it became the most legendary cartoon in history . What characters are you hoping to bring to life? This class lets you develop a character through sketches and tell its story through different types of drawing and animation media.

Subtractive Clay Design taught by Nita Erickson
Turn a clump of clay into a sculpture by utilizing subtarctive and additive processes to create a ceramic sculpture. Organic finishes will be applied using either smoke fire finish or oxide wash. Max. enrollment: 8

Batik Painting taught by Kristine Allphin-Brakenhoff
Batik originated in Indonesia and has been a popular technique for thousands of years, but in this class Batik is given a modern twist. Using muslin and Kristine's style, Batik can take on more imagery and perspective.

Fitness with Connie Reynolds
*Connie Reynolds, M.Y.Ed. has been teaching 10-20 yoga classes a week for the last 17 years and is certified as a Master of Yoga Education through the High Tech Yoga Center, Lowell, MA; the Temple of Kriya Yoga, Chicago, IL; is certified in Yoga for Heart Disease and Cancer, holds a 500-hour yoga teacher training certification through the International Yoga College, Tucson, AZ. She opened The Yoga College studio in 1998 in Sioux City, IA. Connie has been teaching belly dance for 13 years. She choreographs music for and is the director of the Desert Angels Belly Dance Troupe who performs at festivals, parties and celebrations in Iowa and Nebraska. She has performed for the Sioux City Orchestra, colleges, renaissance fairs and for private parties.
Yoga Fitness
This yoga class welcomes all levels. No experience is necessary. Yoga is a beneficial challenge at any level. Yoga is synchronization of deep stretches, penetrating strength and breath work. Connie will weave the fundamentals of each posture into every class for the beginner and so the experienced practitioner can deepen their skill level. Connie can instruct all levels of physical ability simultaneously from Beginner Yoga to Power Yoga. The intelligence of one's body and Connie's guidance will open the door to understanding each individual's own needs. Practitioners can challenge themselves as much or as little as they want to. Each class will explore a well-rounded sequence of postures, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques.

Belly dance Fitness
You do not need any previous dance experience for this class. This aerobic class will reveal ancient movements that isolate and slim your waist, theighs, hips and buttocks as you develop body coordination, strengthen your core muscles and increase flexibility and stamina. In this class, we focus on posture as the foundation of dance. You will begin your journey by learning shoulder shimmies, hip circles, hip shimmies, hip lifts and drops, rib cage circles and drops, body waves, belly rolls, steps, turns, basic combinations, isolations, locks and layers. You will learn to build choreography so you can dance anywhere, any time. Belly dance is considered a healing art for mind, body and spirit.

Yoga for Seniors
This class is designed for seniors or those just getting back into exercise. Safely improve your balance; strengthen and gain flexibility in th elegs, arms and back and improve circulation and digestion. It is a class which requires effort but within each individual's ability. You can practice yoga postures seated in a chair or standing, which makes this class ideal for beginners, those suffering from arthritis, high blood pressure (treated by medication), diabetes or general weakness. This class, like any other yoga class, increases mental focus and decreases stress.

Hot Yoga
You've never done yoga like this before! Doing yoga in a hot room will stimulate and restore health by relaxing and lengthening the muscles and increasing circulation, range of motion in joints and may greatly reduce chronic joint pain. A great class for runners, athletes, dancers and anyone interested in improving their general health. This class is designed for and will accept intermediate to advanced level yoga students or athletes who are in good health. Taking the regular yoga class offered by Connie before trying hot yoga is STRONGLY suggested. Max. enrollment: 15
